The Flower That Changed the World

A flower can change the world. Something so beautiful should be given to someone very special to you—it is a physical form of love, passed from one person to another.

I can imagine how, long ago, the first man who saw a breathtaking sunset with a loved one decided to paint it, hoping to capture that moment forever. Perhaps another person once tasted a perfect combination of plants and decided to recreate the dish as a way to express love and appreciation. Maybe someone else, mesmerized by the colors and delicate shape of a flower, longed to own it. But understanding that beauty is meant to be admired rather than possessed, she returned to the same place every day for the rest of her life, simply to gaze upon it.

As time passed, this woman became a wonderful mother and a devoted wife. She grew older, and one day, she could no longer visit the place where the flowers bloomed. She fell ill, confined to her bed. But then, in her final days, she opened her eyes to find those same beautiful flowers placed beside her, carefully arranged in a handmade jar—crafted by her own son.

And in that moment, she finally understood.

Perhaps that was the moment when the tradition of giving flowers was born—not as a simple gift, but as a symbol of love, remembrance, and deep human connection.

Today, I was taught how to make paper flowers. A simple process, yet one that carries profound meaning. And for that, I am truly grateful.

It was just a flower… or maybe it was everything.
